RIDERS CHECK YOUR SCORE HERE

The 2001 LOE/1000,  Kokopelli's Revenge,  was completed on October 6th and 7th.  Forty-one courageous motorcycle riders from New Mexico and as far off as MassachusettsMinnesotaOregon,  North Carolina,  and California took part in this event.   The 35 riders who finished the entire ride each toured about 1000 miles of  New Mexico in 24 hours in a sort of scavenger hunt, visiting various sites and collecting  tidbits of information.  Of these,  27 qualified for the SaddleSore 1000 award from the   Iron Butt Association.

Summary:
Twenty-one riders elected to follow the base route and showed up at Chama, NM
within the prescribed time window.  Of these riders, 8 placed in the top ten scorers.
Only 4 or 5 riders seemed to be off chasing the "Don't Go There" bonuses;  one
rider collected 7,  and 2 riders found 6 of these New Mexico towns with out-of-state
   alter-egos!
The Poker Chip Drop Sites seemed to work out allright.  Twenty-four riders visited
the one at the Colorado-New Mexico State Line.  But BEWARE, these drop sites
could be located further from the highway in future rallies,  perhaps they could even
be identified solely by their GPS coordinates!
